Old iron african currency Sengese from Cameroon - height: 67 cm - Depth: 23cm - Weight: 1,02kg - Age: late nineteenth early twentieth

Called Sengese, these iron weapons from ethnic Matakam living in the region of the Mandara mountains in northern Nigeria. Used primarily as a weapon, they were later used during ceremonies. The dancers wore two or three in the left hand and a shield in the right.
